Hi,

I just got a Jameco catalog and was looking at the IC's. Could some of you
give us info on these chips if you have it (especially if you've used them for
music applications):

74S00 series:
74S124 16 pin Dual Voltage Controlled Oscillators .69

74LS00 series:
    74LS629 16 pin Dual Volt-Controlled Oscillator 1.25

Harris/Intersil Series:
    8038CCPD 14 pin Waveform Generator/Volt Contr Osc 3.49

Motorola Series:
    MC1496P 14 pin Balanced Modulator/Demodulator (LM1496N) .89
    MC1648P 14 pin Voltage Controlled Oscillator 3.95
    MC4024P 14 pin Dual Volt Control Multivibrator (11C24) 1.75

Linear:
LF398N 8 pin Sample and Hold Circuit 1.95
    LM566CN 8 pin Function Generator (VCO) .89
    MC1648P 14 pin Voltage Controlled Oscillator 3.95

Also, what is a "Monolithic Function Generator" and a "Precision Wave Form
Generator" -- there are a few of these too (probably not voltage controlled?)

ps i'm not advertising for Jameco... just saw the chips there first. They have
a web site BTW www.jameco.com

Mouser is www.mouser.com
