For anyone who wants to upload information to the Music Machines archive 
at Hyperreal--

Please make sure you have a text file accompanying your documents.  If 
you don't include this file, the documents you upload will most likely be 
ignored.

Having said that, here's how you do it-

ftp to hyperreal.com.
cd incoming/machines
type 'put <filename>'

if you're transferring files like images or sounds, use binary transfer 
mode (type 'bin' before you 'put').  if you're transferring text files, 
use ASCII transfer mode (type 'asc' before you 'put').

.... and your stuff will be added to the archive :)
