                     Gear Wanted List Is Interactive


Do you remember the Gear Wanted List (a list of folks that are looking for
gear) and how it would come across the mailing lists and newsgroups as a large
text file and posted about once every two weeks???

Outside of this being a big-ol' message for the remailers of the world to
manage, it's a pain for folks looking for gear since "the word" only gets
out once in a while.


The list is now interactive... If you're a seller looking to unload some
gear, you now have a place to come to find some quick sales.

Once you're on the page, you'll have the ability to enter up to three
search arguments to help you filter through the information in the list.

  Manufacturer
    To reduce a search to only a certain manufacturer's gear, then enter
    the manufacturer's name here. For example, "Roland".

  Model
    To reduce a search to only a certain model of synth, enter the model
    name/type here. For example, "MKS-70".

  Buyer
    This field is provided as a convenience to either lookup the contact
    information for someone you want to get ahold of, or to validate the
    information for your own list entry(s).

Note that if you enter data into multiple fields, then the data is "OR'd"
together. For example, entering "Roland" for the Manufacturer and "70" for
the Model then you will see all Roland entries *AS WELL AS* any entries for
people looking for gear that has the text "70" in its model number.

As well... Leaving all of the fields blank (the default state) will give
you the whole list.


Once the list is presented, you will see that it is organized by
manufacturer, then gear, and then buyers. In the buyer data, the email
address for the buyer is shown as a MAILTO tag. Clicking on this tag will
allow you to immediately send email to the buyer. As well, a comments field
is shown (ie, a phone number or, "Europe sales only"), and a date showing
how long the buyer's want has been on the list.


The page is still under development and all comments and questions are
welcome.
