The Aries modular system provides the square wave as 0 - 10 volts.
Thats because the sequencer modules don't contain their own clock
but rather use a VCO or LFO for clocking
The Electronotes designs have symetrical +/- swings.
The Serge NTO's provide a symetrical +/- swing.
I think ARP's are 0 - 10v also for clocking.
A very early, but still useful, patch is to drive a VCA directly
from the square wave output (at low frequency) and processing an external signal
through the VCA. This is called a "chopper" and the
0 - 10v output will work better for this. For an example of this patch
check out Dave Brock processing his guitar on Hawkwinds
"DoReMiFaSoLaTiDo" and "In Search of Space".
