Awright, if we're gonna talk textbooks ....

the inspirationally titled "Digital Signal Processing"
by Oppenheim and Schafer
ISBN 0-13-214635-5
Prentice-Hall, Inc.
Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey 07632

the inspirationally titled "Digital Signal Processing"
(subtitled "Principles, Algortihms, and Applications")
by Proakis and Manolakis
ISBN 0-02-396815-X
Macmillan Publishing Company
866 Third Avenue, NY NY 10022

I learned from P&M ("the tome") -- it's a great reference. But I think the
O&S is easier to read, better to learn from, especially if you're DIY.

note that these are primarily theory textbooks.

Of course, the best way to learn: buy/borrow/steal yourself a copy of
Mathwork's MATLAB. Try to use every function at least once. You'll be a
PhD in no time! ;)

Where's the FAQ, anyway?

Jonathan.
