Funny, I was about to start building a flanger/chorus device as well. I
had just been reading 'everyday practical electronics', and the Sept 96
issue has a analog delay/flanger fx box design in it.
I'll answer your questions based on the design in the article:
> Which Analogue Delay Chips is there?
the MN3102/MN3207 "bucket brigade delay" chipset. Manufacturer is ..
panasonic?
Panasonic has a bunch of chips like this .. I know for a fact that there
is at least an MN3208, which I think is 2x as many stages as the MN3207
... don't know if it's pin-compatible, tho.
> What length?
the MN3' has 1024 stages. The DDB can be clocked at rates between 10k and
100kHz, so you get 2.56ms to 25.6ms delay through the device. I'm not
sure what frequency range is available in the EPE design (the full range
seems to be reachable via trimmers).
> What S/N?
Not in the article.
> What is the clock range?
Whoops, got that one already.
> Availability?
> Price?
In the US, they are available through Digikey (1800DIGIKEY), but alas not
Mouser (digikey prices are about 1.5x mouser prices).
MN3102: US$1.70
MN3107: US$9.18 ***SOLD OUT***
whoah! I just noticed that digikey is sold out of this part. bad news --
i should've ordered it weeks ago. Hopefully they'll get more in soon.
> Experiences?
I'll let you know in a couple of weeks. Got to finish it before my ASM-1
board arrives, donchyaknow. :)
Oh boy! I got to post something useful. whee...
