  Few! I'm glad we got all that cleared up - I was starting to doubt myself
  for a second there.

  Back to Bert's original question.....

  If you want to combine two sine waves and get something that 's good for
  bass lines, do you think - perhaps - you might be thinking of Frequency
  Modulation (FM) - like the Yamaha DX-7, etc - of the two sine waves - and
  not addition? This gives you bell tones, bass tones, etc. with just two
  sine waves - but the process is not nearly so simple as addition!

  Now was that just plain old FM - or through zero FM ? ;)
