SSM2040 CAT dilemma...

Hi DIYheads..

Here's a dilemma. I have an Octave CAT synth, very fine indeed. I also have
most of the Digisound schematics, and would dearly love to build the 80-5
state variable VCF (LP, HP, BP all at 12 or 24dB slope, notch) which
uses....an SSM2040. The CAT's (very good, but rather suddenly appearing
resonance) VCF uses.... an SSM2040. This is the only SSM2040 chip I have
ever seen anywhere. So the dilemma is, do I keep the CAT as is, or remove
the SSM2040 to build the 80-5 VCF and route the CAT through it when I need
to? Bear in mind if the chip dies, I'm stuffed.

	Press your answer buttons now....
