hahaha =) if you could set the trims and levels of each channel so high
that each channel would actually add another 1v to the output then your 40
channel mixer should have 40v at the output.  but this doesn't happen
because your mixer's output will peak at some voltage and its propably
got diodes to clip the output.

if it's not a real expensive one you could probably burn it with an
experiment like that.  or just drive a loud audio signal into each channel
and turn all gains/trims/levels southeast and then you can read the smoke
signals.
