Hmm, yeah.

White noise - now THERE'S an idea!

OK, I'll answer all this in private :-) There is one question which is
relevant though....

>Also, what gives with the crazy synth prices?

It is bloody ridiculous how cheap you 'merikans have synths. Typical synth
prices over here would be say 1200+ UKP for an ARP2600; Around 1400 UKP for
an EMS VCS3; 130 UKP for a Korg Poly800; 900UKP for a Minimoog...

These equate to around (ex.rate 1.6$=1UKP) $1920 for the ARP, $2240 for the
VCS3; $208 for the Poly800 and $1440 for the Minimoog! I don't know what the
answer to these questions are at all. It's something weird and not
necessarily involving customs tariffs - the VCS3 STILL manages to be cheaper
in the US despite being made here!!!!

>them over to europe... However, if I bring a $350 Juno 106 over there

Simple answer - don't try and take synths over here to sell!!!! Best thing to
do is post an ad on somewhere like rec.music.makers.synth, or Analogue
Heaven. People from over here then will save about 20% after all the extra
costs by purchasing from you.

>Honestly, I don't know which side of the pond has the worse governments -
>you either get taxed to death over there, or live in this
>democrafaschistic police state once known as 'the land of the free'.

HA! Man, I know all about THIS! It is a touch off-topic fer THIS list though,
I'll take it up in private mail!

>police here now have the power to confiscate and SELL your property
>(houses, yachts, etc) without even charging you with a crime. It's a
>fucking undeclared civil war - do you folks get any of this news over
>there, or does the media blackout extend to the UK?

There are folks over here TRYING to make it like the US!!! Oops, I'm
beginning to rant now too :)

> Believe it - it's
>all true, but I'm ranting at a stranger. Sorry. Sorry.

Relax man ;) Ya need to get the shit out of yer system now and again.

Apologies to DIY-heads!!!!!!!!
