Overseas Shipments

Hello World  ;)

I'm about to order a set of Xerox copies (including a binder) of
Hal Chamberlin's book Musical App's of Microrocessors from Hal himself.
However it's got to be sent (from the US) to the Netherlands (Europe, for
those of you who don't know where to look on the map). Anyway, does anyone
have any experience with these kind of overseas shipments? What would be a
good way of sending such a pile of paper: air mail, FedEx, ???? Any tips?
Do you need to insure it?

Suggestions are welcome.
