Howdy!
I'm about to go out and by 1/4" contacts for my latest creation and thougth I'd
pop the question that keep spinning in my head:
Which 1/4" contacts are good onces?
Or to put a bit more colour onto the issue...
I'd like switch capability (for normalized patches).
It does not hurt to know the state of the contact (plugged/unplugged). An
sleeve
switch is prefered... but if worse it has to go onto the ring switch. The
switches should be closed when no plug is inserted. Their open state is not of
concern.
I'd like stability (both short term and long term physical stability). I am a
bit worried about those plastic once that I have (with metal ring). Have people
had trouble with these compared to the metal once?
I'd like good explanation on why something works or not works. If a certain
manufacture and model is mentioned I'd be really happy.
The look is not all which matters, but it still has something to do with it.
Personally I like the Neutrik 1/4" male connectors, but I'd like advice on
which
female (chassi mounted) once are recommended.
I have BTW seen few examples of good female 1/4" connectors for cable, any tip
of a good one is of course recommended.
Cheers,
Magnus
