ROBERT MOOG PLANS TO OFFER ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
PRODUCTS UNDER THE MOOG TRADEMARK


Dear Friend:

I hereby formally announce that I have submitted an application with the United
States Patent and Trademark Office to use the MOOG name as a registered
trademark. I am claiming the exclusive right to use the MOOG tradename to
identify
an electronic musical instrument business in which I have an interest, and
to use the
MOOG trademark to identify electronic musical instrument-related goods and
services. I make this claim because my name is well-known in the electronic
musical
instrument industry, and because use of the MOOG trademark on electronic musical
instrument products constitute an implied endorsement by me.

As you may know, I was president of R. A. Moog, Inc. from 1954 to 1971, and
president of Moog Music, Inc, from 1971 to 1977. I left Moog Music, Inc. in
1978, after
which the MOOG tradename and trademark fell into disuse and were then
abandoned by Moog Music, Inc. At the present time, the MOOG trade name and
trademark are not officially registered.

I anticipate that, within the coming year, the Patent and Trademark Office
will grant
our application to use the MOOG name as a registered trademark. Until the
application is actually granted, I intend to use the MOOG mark to identify
certain
products and services that I and my associates design, build, and sell.

I note that other businesses have recently attempted to use the MOOG trademark,
and that at one business may be doing so at the present time. My position
is that,
aside from my uses, none of the current and recent uses of the MOOG
trademark (as
applied to electronic musical products and services) are valid, because
none of the
users own the MOOG trademark and because use of the MOOG name as a trademark
violates my specific legal right to use and exploit my own name and persona.
