Serge Waveshapers

Any one have any information on the Serge waveshapers?

I've read the catalogue and want to know more.

For patent perusers try US Patent 4,306,480  "Electronic musical instrument" filed by Serge Tcherepnin and
Frank Eventoff and discusses a wave shaper.  Is this the same technology as used in the modular stuff.
