Hi Ric (and DIY list),
Hey it does sound like the Electronotes Bernie, he has his own web
page at... aw heck fergot to bookmark it, anyway I think it's under
/cornell/staff/ or something like that...
Now I know it's hard to convey the "tone of voice" over email, but did
he sound pissed? Or merely curious? As you may know I had a pretty big
part in disseminating Bernie-authored materials within the last year
or so, so if he's pissed, please refer him to me as well.
If he were to approach the AH/DIY lists with some animosity over our
free distribution of his materials, then I would certainly want to
"make nice" to him because he is, after all, the originator of much
analog synthesizer DIY greatness. I hope he's not mad....
And if he is, he needs to understand that:
1) I spoke on the phone with him just over a year ago and asked him if
I could xerox copies of the PCC to buddies, and he said "OK".
2) He DOES NOT respond to repeated MONEY-CONTAINING orders mailed to
him for original bona-fide legal morally-correct copies of his
materials, so what are we supposed to do?
<soap-box time begin...>
We live in the information age, and we can't wait. If information is
out there, and the originator does not respond to requests for that
information, even with the proper offer of purchase, then too bad. If
that's against the rules, then the rules must change because
civilization has out-grown the rules. See we have the internet now.
<soap-box time end...>
Anyway let's hope we can either get his blessing or get him to respond
to our orders for legitimate materials.

Ithaca College and Cornell University are both in Ithaca, New York. My
uncle started his career with GE when they did someting in cooperation
with Cornell. If you ever heard of Carl Sagan, he's been a prof at
Cornell for "billions and billions" er, ah, I mean years. Plus my
brother-in-law works at Cornell (jrichards at msmail.vet.cornell.edu). It's
entirely possible that BH is currently at Cornell even though Ithaca
College is where people go for a music degree.
