LM13600 Spec Sheet VCO questions

I have a copy of the LM13600 OTA spec sheet. On page 2-527, ther ar
two VCo circuits, fig:15 = triangle and square, and fig:16 = ramp and
pulse.
The math for fig 15 shows the output frequency is linear with respect
to the control current. Fig 16 shows the frequency of oscillation as
'approximately' equal to some calculation involving the control
current.
1) Has anyone any experience with these circuits? Like are they
stable?
2) Does the 'approx' operator instead of an equal sign indicate some
non-linearity or just some leeway, but that linearity is preserved?
