I've read your previous posting, and it reminded me of something.
I wanted to use sliders, and noticed that the two pins named "2"
are not always both connected!

The worst thing that could happen is that you short-circuited the
"output" to ground directly...

Hope it's not that bad!

I would also say you should get yourself a multimeter.
