I am happy to report that LoopMIDI works on my Win11 computer. It
was just basic testing. I tested using MIDI-Ox, VMPK keyboard,
Cakewalk Sonar, and Notation Player 5. Notation Player failed
because it refused to open any LoopMIDI ports saying that it was a
potential infinite loop even though it wasn't configured that way.
I use it for a lightweight way to preview MIDI files so the
failure is of no consequence to me.

Thanks - John Speth

I did a bit of researching about the bugs. I had no idea that
MS's new MIDI Services included virtual MIDI cables (the same
function as LoopMIDI). I also read info that tells me setting it
up is not nearly as simple as LoopMIDI. Has anybody reading
this tried to use virtual MIDI cables from Windows MIDI
Services? Did it work?

Yes, but can be dicey right now. The new MIDI
services that rolled out in February broke lots of
things. Patches are coming and fixes for most
things are out now and will be rolling out for the
next several weeks. There is a Discord group for
the Microsoft MIDI services you might want to look
up. Everything is there.
