not really fair.. what some of you people have 'laying around' is more than my whole studio..;-)
(actually that's not really true, i have 2 serge slope generators 'laying around' for instance..;-)
i like the 'junk' part.. or how about the most unusual use of
non-musical parts for musical use? a ring modulator made from parts of
a hair dryer and an air conditioning unit? or metasonix' use of
tv-tubes for an oscillator? something like that..
I had an idea for a contest. Since I'm always trying to find ways to use
what electronics parts I have at hand I thought it might be a cool idea to
have a contest to see who could make the coolest piece of DIY gear using
only what they already have and buying nothing. There could be two
catagories: one with ONLY parts that have been salvaged from junk and one
that would allow for parts bought a while ago.

I mean I just know some of you have some really cool parts that you just
haven't been able to squeeze into anything yet.

I'm hoping that as my current phase of austerity fades away once more that I
have not lost the creative edge that I think I have fostered in the mean
time.
