<font size=3>I used a Clair M-991 with a 3.58 MHz xtal. It's a call
progress tone generator which will output an alert tone which is
specified to be 440 Hz. It's reasonably accurate and only took 3
resistors and 3 capacitors. The output is low level so I had to
follow it with an amplifier.<br><br>

Another option is to just use an arbitrary divider (counter and magnitude
comparator). This way almost any crystal can be made to work within +- 1
cents.<br><br>
