Well there's bad and then there's bad. All of the Darkstar samples on this page sound like a boring, crappy square wave. They don't sound unique or unusual. I assume it's just the user in this case. He seems to be going for Hawkwind style Space Rock filler sounds. He would have been better off with a surplus function generator because that's probably what Hawkwind used at the time. Looking at the docs for the SN76477 and knowing it's been used in some of my favorite arcade games would suggest that it's much more powerful. Weirdness and a sid-chip quality sound are good! I'm just a little concerned after hearing these particular samples. If they suggest the limits of what the SN76477 / Darkstar then that's bad. <BR>
