<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Hi,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I am building a modular synth using MOTM sized
modules. My cabinet is 20U wide and 10U high. I am wondering if there is a
preferred layout of modules in a system that makes best use of the patch
cables (keeping them short and as tidy as possible while maximising access to
the front panels) as well as conforming with the more common ways the modules
are used together?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>For example, would you group all modules
together, for example :- </FONT></DIV>
<UL>
<LI><FONT face=Arial size=2>all the VCOs, then the VCA.s then the VCFs......
</FONT></LI></UL>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>or would you group them for optimum operation
like, for example:-</FONT></DIV>
<UL>
<LI><FONT face=Arial size=2> VCO - [ADSR - VCF] - [ADSR - VCA].......,
or</FONT>
<LI><FONT face=Arial size=2>VCO - VCO - VCO - MIXER - [ADSR - VCF] - [ADSR -
VCA].........</FONT></LI></UL><FONT face=Arial size=2>
<DIV>My system currently consists of:-</DIV>
<OL>
<LI>3 x VCO
<LI>1 x VCF
<LI>1 x VCA
<LI>2 x ADSR
<LI>2 x VC-LFO
<LI>1 x NOISE
<LI>2 x 3-channel mixer
<LI>1 x MIDI-CV
<LI>1 x Output Module (tone controls and headphone amp)</LI></OL>
