[sdiy] 7 Synth companies that tried and failed

I love old obscure gear, but beware of precious old synths who talk like Stinky Pete and seem to want to stay in their original box forever.
Synthesizers are like stuffed animals, the most loved ones get loved into sawdust. Taoism says the sharpest knife will be the one that gets dulled and worn out the fastest.
If we don’t use something up, we haven’t used it well.
Of course, repair and maintenance are part of this (and can apply to teddy bears too), and that’s where we elves come into the story. But the quest for “buying authentic experiences” seems more absurd in 2023 than ever.
I do find bargains on reverb.com <http://reverb.com/>, but never under the heading of one of these articles.
