Most Schukos are actually rated for just 10 A continuous use. With
"continuous use" the norm means anything longer than one hour. If your
socket is old and the contacts oxidized, this can be lower. If
everything is new, you can also draw the full 16A for more than an hour
in practise, but 10A is what most household Schuko wall sockets are
rated at.

Also: The plugs on the other side also need to be rated that high, they
are often rated lower as well.

Source: I am a certified VEFK, so i had to learn the VDE norms (yeah,
all of them).
