Not quite what you’re describing, but the end product is similar: 


This googles itself periodically, displays its popularity as a mental state on a visible meter and then plays a set of instruments (all encased in the same glass case) via various actuators with the music determined by its ‘mental’ state.  It’s pretty amazing.
