I underdstand that the kickstarter way is also interesting for big and already set up companies as it’s a new way of combining advertising/marketing/sales on one platform.
And you can get into contact with customers even during design/redesign states and can work with useful feedback to improve your product even further!
For me it really makes sense!

They’ve raised nearly half a million quid, without having to pay interest or give promises of a share in the company. That seems like a pretty good deal to me, and I can understand a company wanting to do that, even if they have got some cash sitting about.
