Ditto for the heavy hand of Eclipse.  Newer versions just seem to pile on to the problems.  But it does give us one thing that I don't think is available otherwise: It's a debugger UI, which I think is basically a front end to GDB.

My preference is to use a makefile to build.  That's relatively simple to set up.  Is there a free debugger UI that is NOT Eclipse.
