I'd say Urs Heckmann (or Lennard Addink or Rob Papen or Steve Duda...)  
has more of an appreciation and understanding of how "bits" come 
together into a whole synthesizer than 95% of the DIY hardware hackers 
out there.  Their synths are well designed and sound great.

But they make software, so not only do the not make synths at all, they 
just stick bits together.  At random!   What morons!

This conversation reminds me of why I only lurked for over a decade.  I 
think I'll just go back to that now.
