Can't remember where I picked that up. Maybe I made it up?

I work with a guy who shortens *everything* he types - some of it is internet/SMS slang, some of it - I think might be some sort of short-hand or RTP thing (he's ex-MOD) - sometimes he just reduces words to syllables. Odd.

You both knew I was referring to Transistors though right? :) 

My common-substrate question still stands BTW.
