It's nice to see the passion that this chip wake up each time we talk
about it.

I have sometimes the feeling that the synth-diy list has become the
synth-manufacturer list.

>From a point of view strictly DIYer, the solution is as easy as to buy as
many chips as PCBs you have ... or that you plan to do in the future.

Another solutions would be to adapt the design for THAT VCAs, to build
designs with available chips or look for it in utsource, for example.

This is regarding suspect chips to be discontinued. Seems that this is not
the case for the V2164.
