[sdiy] multiplier questions/experiments AD633

so i setup some ad633 circuits this morning.

 Since the datasheet shows a bunch of ways to use the chip., I figured I would try the examples to see how many different things this chip can do.

However, to my surprise, many of the circuits shown (squaring, doubling,  inverse functions) don't really do that much to synth waveforms.

 (I went over my connections very carefully to make sure I had not hooked up anything wrong.)

I was feeding the Ad633 with various waveforms.  


SO if anyone here has a lot of experience with multipliers or with the 633, I'd love to know if square root, division, etc circuits have a place in the synth world.
