[sdiy] favorite "magical" opamp?

I heard the John Hardy 990 saturates really nicely. There are also
other 990 style op amps around..
It's funny, because I was looking for op amp based filter designs. So
I wonder, what are you all's favourite op amp based filter designs?
Not to hijack the thread, it's pretty related... I think Dan could
have a lot of fun with those :-)
