If the sound is 'ticking' from an oscillator or LFO, then it is most likely
a ground wiring or layout problem, with two circuits sharing some ground
wiring or trace.
If the "entire" interfering sound is heard faintly, then yeah, probably
capacitive.
If it is modulating the oscillator smoothly, then I expect it is capacitive.
